I decided to go back one last time to Bako, despite the fact that the weather looked less idyllic than the first two visits, Rain threatened.
When we got there on the boat, there were lots of small monkeys playing on the beach, and the pig was back around the offices.
After spending a bit of time with these, I set off on the walk Tg. Sapi that starts right by the HQ. Although a short walk, it involved quite a climb - but the reward was a good view back to the beach and showing the HQ buildings.
I sat there for a while and then set off on my other ambition for the day - Ulu Assam. Again this is quite a short walk and I went along slowly as it was teaming with monkey activity. I also came across a pair of pigs foraging in the undergrowth.
The last 300 metres is quite a climb but again it is rewarded with a view.
I was also rewarded by finding myself in the middle of a monkey super-highway. They were all around - including proboscis monkeys.
I stayed for about half an hour before making my way back, meeting the two pigs and an elegant spider on the way.
The five hours had flown by and the boat ride back was as lovely as ever.
