I got the 8.00 bus to Bako and was on a boat by 09.15. This time rather than trying to do too much I decided to do rather little. A decision that was rewarded. Ambling around I came across a wandering pig (!) and then a group of proboscis monkeys having their breakfast in a tree. I got some good photos and stayed watching this group for about half and hour.
I then set off on a fairly easy trek (Delima) that ended up on a beach with the tide coming in. Not another soul to be seen, it was another Bako moment.
I retraced my path to the main trail (Lintang) and carried along this to the 4.6 km mark where I knew their was a nice bench. On the way, I cam across a group of macaque monkeys, crashing around and occasionally bickering. Again I got some photos of one of them - but at a rather greater distance.
The time rushed by and before I seemed to have started it was time to make my way back for the last boat at 15.00.
All in all, a very satisfying visit and one that I might repeat one last time in the next couple of days. The weather stayed beautiful all day - last night's rain seems to have got it out of the system for the time being.
