I had decided to move hotels today. I wanted to stay an extra night because the train to KL was fully booked on this Monday but I could get a place on the Tuesday - tomorrow. When I asked the hotel about staying an extra night they seemed to me massively bone-headed and said I'd have to book on the internet as if I was booking afresh. Needless to say, this was a a higher rate than up to now.
As they would not let a human over-ride this computer driven system, I thought I'd look elsewhere and found somewhere half the price and much more in the thick of things.
Once my move was accomplished, I had a specific need which was to find a shoe repairer. This proved a bit of an adventure. The hotel told me where such a person was located and I made my way following the instructions but not a shoe mender to be seen. I eventually tracked down Mr Ben way down a further side street. He did an excellent job, stitching together the sandals that should have had more than glue in the first place.
While he was doing this, I had another look around the nearby Arab streets.
